Now i’ll be the first to admit that this question might be a bit of a stretch. But before we go to far let me just point out that they have never been seen in the same room… JUST SAYING.
Anyways, in the first chapter of the book ” Promise me, dad” by Joe Biden he explain the thanksgiving trips his family goes on each year. That they took a long car ride to Nantucket each thanksgiving and do all of the usual family holiday things, throw a football, eat a huge dinner and take pictures. Once he was vice – president they had to start taking plane rides there each break. The trip was a staple of the family, as the family grew the trip grew more and more important. are you thinking the same thing I am? That’s right, SHREK. Imagine this you save a princess one time, it’s a fun adventure and you even get a girlfriend from it, but all the sudden more and more adventures pile up and you have to go on some of them. on top of that more people want to join you. If you ask me these are the exact same stories… Don’t believe me yet? On the plane rides Joe Biden’s grandchildren start asking a lot of questions and even complain! Now say it with me who does THIS remind me of? DONKEY! that’s right. Now you might be asking how this is even relevant, and you have right to. And I would love to tell you why it matters, because it really does help you see the connections in the text. It shows the wholesomeness and the idea that each trip to Nantucket was an adventure for the Biden family.
If there was one question I have after reading the passages that I have read, I would have to ask if the dynamic if the trip ( or adventures ) changed the more family members where added, obviously I can’t answer this myself but I can infer that they did change. It says in the book that the trip got to 12 people. 12 people is more than I can handle in one day much less a whole trip. But I also can see the dynamic of this family and I think that the more people they got to add to the trip the more the love grew and the more important and special the trip was to each of them.
